Process Design

The first step of the design of a plant typically includes:

  • The selection of main unit operations and process modelling by means of simulation programs;
  • The production of heat and material balances;
  • The preparation of process flow diagrams (PFD) showing equipment, process connections and main control loops;
  • The preliminary sizing of the equiment (Equipment Summary);
  • The assessment of utilities consumption (Utility Summary);

Detailed Engineering Design
